Hira Devi. Hira Devi is of 38 years and an expert in Bharni style of Madhubani painting lives in the village Jitwarpur in Madhunani, Bihar. Her husband Devendra Jha helps her in completing and selling her paintings. She had learned painting out of interest, but now by exploiting her art she is earning for her family. Hira Devi was incapable of giving birth to children. So she made her husband marry another woman. Now she takes care of her husband’s children and has devoted herself wholly for rearing them. She in future wants to earn better money from the sale of her paintings and utilize that money in growth of the children.
